LAHORE US Consul General in Lahore Carmella Conroy met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Monday, and discussed matters of mutual interest as well as relief and rehabilitation of flood affected people. The CM informed the US Consul General about the steps taken for the relief and rehabilitation of flood affectees, and said model villages were being constructed with the help of philanthropists and welfare organisations. Donations to his flood relief fund are also being spent on the construction of model villages. Quilts, blankets and warm clothes are being distributed among the affectees to protect them from cold in winter season, he added. Carmella Conroy also discussed with the CM the proposed fund raising programme for the flood affectees.
