President Zardari addresses Gilani’s grievances

President Asif Ali Zardari met with former Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani at his residence here Friday to address the grievances of the Gilani family.
During their one-on-one meeting the two discussed FIA notices issued to the Gilani family. The FIA had summoned Yusuf Raza Gilani and his son MNA Abdul Qadir Gilani on November 16.
The President told the former Prime Minister that the PPP accords great respect to the services rendered by Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and the government can never imagine to take any action against him or any member of his family.
President Zardari and Yusuf Raza Gilani also discussed probable candidates for the PPP in southern Punjab.
The president also met with parliamentarians from Southern Punjab who advocated the formation of a Sariaki province.
President Zardari said during the meeting that he did not have the required majority to make a Sariaki province. Gilani assured the president that if a bill was presented in parliament for the formation of a Sariaki province, several members of the PML-N would vote for it.
The President who flew into Multan in his special plane was accompanied by all the important Ministers in the Cabinet including Qamar Zaman Kaira, Yasin Wattoo, Nazar Gondal, Amin Fahim, Khursheed Shah and Samsam Bokhari giving a clear message that the PPP and the Government have great respect for Mr Gilani.
On arrival at the airport, Zardari was received by Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, his sons and Makhdoom Shahabuddin, who was a strong candidate to succeed Gilani but could not make it due to sudden arrest warrants issued against him in the Ephedrine case.
The President warmly embraced Mr Gilani and his sons. Mr Gilani hosted a luncheon for the President, his entourage and parliamentarians from the Southern Punjab.
