Islamabad (PR) - It is rightly said that women are the agents of change and keeping this theme in mind Roots Millennium Schools, Wahid Campus, F-10/2, arranged a family fiesta to promote “mothers as entrepreneurs.”
The major economic, security, governance, and environmental challenges cannot be solved without the participation of women at all levels of society. Empowering women is one of the most effective and positive forces for improving conditions around the globe. Indeed, no country can prosper if half its people are left behind. The business environment is changing and the involvement of women in the field of business has taken momentum in recent times, says a press release issued here on Saturday.
Parents and students of Wahid campus enjoyed a day full of fun activities for the young and the old. Mothers as entrepreneurs showcased the works of various mother entrepreneurs. The mothers put in a lot of effort and arranged numerous beautiful stalls including the handicrafts stalls showing handmade clothes, shawls, jewellery items, mirror artwork pieces etc. The main source of attraction for the children included the pony ride, face-painting stalls and the inflatable castle which the children thoroughly loved. The children also participated in a live singing competition.
Danish Ambassador Jesper Moller Sorensen attended the event as the chief guest. He said that it was a great privilege to have been invited to this very important day. He said that mothers in Pakistan have a special status. The ambassador encouraged the initiative of arranging the family fiesta to promote the entrepreneurial role of mothers in Pakistan by saying, “I think that taking such an initiative that you have here today is extremely important in any community but I think perhaps particularly important in a country like Pakistan with a 100 million population being women.”
He also said that although there is women participation in politics, there are also not enough women in economic participation yet.
Director RMS Sabina Zakir and Principal Erum Atif presented the Danish ambassador with a handmade shawl and traditional cap as a cultural memento.
