Pakistan returns Afghan soldier at Torkham

KHYBER AGENCY - An Afghan army soldier was handed over to Afghan officials by Pakistan security officials at Torkham border on Wednesday. The Afghan army man crossed into Pakistan some days ago.

The Pakistani forces official said that the Afghan border security force official identified as Zabihullah son of Agha Jan was detained by the Frontier Corps (FC) troops when he unintentionally entered into Pakistani area on the border of Khar Lachi, Kurram Agency some days ago, and was shifted to Cantonment area for necessary investigation.

After completion of all formalities, in a “goodwill gesture” Pakistani officials including Commandant Khyber Rifles Col Farrukh Humayun, Landi Kotal Assistant Political Agent Niaz Muhammad, and other officials handed over the detainee to the Afghan border security officials.

Before his return, the Afghan soldier was given gifts by the Pakistani officials.

The Afghan officials thanked the Pakistani officials and appreciated their kind treatment towards the arrested soldier during detention.
