LAHORE   -  Pakistan Tennis Federation’s (PTF) National Coordinator Hamid Niaz has imparted the most modern techniques of junior tennis to the youth of Sindh under the International Tennis Federation’s (ITF) program Junior Tennis Initiative (JTI).

Hamid Niaz, who is ITF representative in Pakistan for JTI Program, has visited the different cities of Sindh and guided and trained the youth about the modern tennis techniques, taught important lessons to players and young coaches, and attracted a good number of youngsters towards this beautiful game. The JTI program was supported and organized by Sindh Tennis Association in collaboration with Sindh Sports Board, Hyderabad Tennis Association, Karachi Tennis Association, Mirpurkhas Tennis Association, Jamshoro Tennis Association and Dadu Tennis Association.

The national coordinator conducted three-hour JTI workshop at Union Club, which was attended by 60 coaches, DPEs, sports teachers and officials of various sports organizations. He also had a demo at Anjuman-e-Islamia Girls School Liaqat Abad, Union Club Karachi, Water Wing Colony Sports Complex Hyderabad, Ibn-e-Rushed Girls College Mirpurkhas, Agricultural University Tando Jam, Govt Girls School & College Sehwan Shareef, Liaqat University of Medical Sciences Jamshoro, where around 1000 plus participants witnessed the demos and learned basic techniques of tennis. The PTF/STA sponsored and distributed JTI equipments, nets, poles rackets, balls, stringing, grips at various centers of cities he visited.

The Pakistan JTI head also selected teams/coordinators at all the centers, who will carry out JTI activities throughout the year at their respective centers. The PTF/STA will monitor their performances and more equipment would be provided to all the performing units. The purpose of all these activities was to promote and flourish further the game of tennis in Pakistan, so that the country may start producing future tennis champions.

Hamid especially expressed his gratitude to Sindh Tennis Association and its Senior Vice President M Khalid Rehmani for the entire cooperation and generous support towards this national cause, which make the JTI Program in Sindh a huge success. “With such a dedicated and passionate tennis lovers like Khalid Rehmani, who remained present with me at all the venues we visited and imparted trainings and knowledge of tennis, the future of Pakistan tennis seems very bright. He is serving Sindh tennis with true devotions and has great services for it, for which he deserves to be acknowledged and honoured by tennis community.”
