MULTAN - Five armed dacoits robbed a private bank at Chungi No-9 in broad daylight and made off with cash worth over Rs3 million on Monday, police said.
The bank manager told police that the robbers entered the bank as customers and held entire staff hostage at gunpoint. The outlaws badly tortured the security guards, leaving them seriously injured. All police officers rushed to the bank after learning about the incident but the robbers had fled by then. Police sources said that robbers communicated with one another in Pushto and they locked up the main entrance of the bank before fleeing. All police high ups including CPO Amir Zulfiqar were in the bank till filing of this report.
