Growers urged to pick clean cotton

MULTAN : Agriculture experts have advised cotton growers to move ahead with the cotton picking process carefully to ensure production of contamination-free and quality lint. The field is ready for picking when over 50 per cent bolls attain the shape of cotton flower and the process should start after 10 am after dew drops dry up and do not affect the colour of lint, says a release issued by the media liaison unit of Punjab agriculture department here Monday. Cotton pickers should start picking Phutti from the bottom of the plant and move up gradually.
