Pemra law violators warned of action

GUJRANWALA-The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) said that crackdown on violators of Pemra rules will be started today.
Regional manager Pemra Khuram Siddique said no one would be allowed to airing Indian films through cable net work. Talking to the media, he said computers, cables and other machinery of such cable operators would be seized while their licences will be cancelled. He said Gujranwala police chief had been requested to provide police force to conduct raids in this regard.
ELECTIONEERING: Activities in respect of the second phase of Local Government Elections have started in Gujranwala and hundreds of candidates have submitted their nomination papers to the returning officers.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced 14th and 15th of October for submission of nomination papers while scrutiny of the papers will be done on 17th and 18th of October, hearing of appeals will be done on 20th of October while election on special seats will be held on 12th of November.
8 gas cylinder factories sealed
The tehsil administration has sealed eight factories during a campaign against the manufacturers of substandard gas cylinders.
Assistant Commissioner Nurish Saba conducted raids at different areas while cases have been registered against the owners. The factory owners were involved in making low quality cylinders. They have been arrested by the police.
