President Asif Ali Zardari has convened a meeting of the leadership of allied parties in the government to discuss important matters. The meeting will be held on Monday during which among other things political situation will be discussed in detail. Sources said the meeting has been called in the back drop of announcement that it would contest the forthcoming general elections without entering into alliance with the PPP or any other party and announcement by Deputy Prime Minister and PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervez Elahi to award party tickets to some leaders of his party in various constituencies. Other issues that are likely to be taken up include the situation arising out of the promulgation of local government ordinance, reservations of some allies in Sindh over it and preparations for the forthcoming general elections.
