LAHORE : As many as 580,000 acres of land was brought under cotton cultivation in Punjab this year against the target of 9.6 bales of cotton. Talking to APP on Sunday, agriculture experts said per acre yield of cotton in Pakistan was less as compared to that of other cotton producing countries. The main reason of less produce was attack of insects and different worms, they added. Experts have urged the growers to carry out pest scouting to counter the attacks of worms and insects.
Attack of American worm, Army worm, Red worm and others could poise a serious threat to cotton production experts suggested the growers to properly check the crop twice a week.
