US talking to Pak, India about nuclear responsibilities

WASHINGTON (APP) The United States said on Thursday it was talking to both India and Pakistan about the responsibilities that come with nuclear programs. Obviously, we are talking to both India and Pakistan about their nuclear programs and the responsibilities that come with them, said P J Crowley, Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs. The spokesman was responding to a question on nuclear security in the backdrop of Nuclear Security Summit held in Washington earlier this week. Pakistani and Indian prime ministers were among the world leaders who attended the summit. At the concluding press conference President Barack Obama defended Islamabads nuclear security efforts in recent years and made it clear that his administration wants to lower tensions with regard to nuclear programs throughout South Asia. I have actually seen progress over the last several years with respect to Pakistans nuclear security issues.
