KE to provide free
electricity to FESF
KARACHI (PR): K-Electric (KE) has always focused on its Social Investment Program (SIP) through its Corporate Social Responsibility and the Power Utility has added another partner to which the company would be providing 100% free electricity to the FESF Schools and technical training centre specialized for the deaf niche of the society.
As per KE’s press statement an MoU was signed at the KE House between the FESF and KE where KE’s CEO Tayyab Tareen and FESF’s Director Daniel Marc were present.
CEO-KE appreciated the efforts that FESF is rendering to serve this part of the society that was not being given proper focus. He also expressed interest for the top brass of KE in investing time and efforts with FESF with their skill set that can help FESF grow.

SLIC, NIB Bank join hands
Karachi (PR): State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan (SLIC) and NIB Bank have signed a Bancassurance Distribution Agreement. Under the agreement, SLIC bancassurance products will be offered by NIB Bank to existing and potential customers through the Bank`s widespread distribution channels. Offering bancassurance products is in line with SLIC`s commitment to continuous improvement and product innovation.

It also aligns with NIB Bank`s strategic intent to be “a high performance Bank admired for Innovation, Customer Service and Inspired Employees.”
The agreement was signed by Gian Chand Kewalramani, General Manager, Bancassurance, SLIC, Jaudat Hussain, Group Head Retail Banking, NIB Bank and Mohammad Naseem Rawther, COO, GBA Services (Pvt) Limited, who, under the terms of the agreement, will provide certain administrative, software and related services to SLIC.
This Alliance between SLIC and NIB Bank provides customers with protection that ensures their financial security. With NIB Bank as its new bancassurance partner, State Life Insurance Corporation looks forward to a significant expansion of its business which will benefit from a wider, strategically located distribution network across the country.
The agreement signing ceremony was attended by Nargis Ghaloo, Chairperson, SLIC, Atif R. Bokhari, President & CEO, NIB Bank, Executive Directors of SLIC, Aijaz Ali Khan, M. Izqar Khan, and NIB Bank representatives Dina Shaban, General Manager South, and Sarah Irfan, Head of Bancassurance among others.

UBL, ICAP sign MoU for
co-branded debit cards
KARACHI (PR): The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) recently joined hands with United Bank Ltd (UBL) for the exclusive issuance of a co-branded Visa prepaid card for the institute’s students and members. This joint initiative will encourage the progression of paperless processing and cashless transactions along with the promotion of the online experience amongst the future corporate managers of Pakistan.
With this co-branded prepaid card, ICAP students will be able to pay their registration and examination fees at the click of a button online on ICAP’s website. ICAP and UBL have already collaborated on upgrading the institute’s web platform to accept internet based payments through UBL’s cutting edge Go-Green Internet Merchant Acquiring initiative.
The MoU signing ceremony for the co-branded prepaid cards took place at ICAP’s Head Office in Karachi. Feroz Rizvi, COO & Secretary ICAP and Khurram Rezvi, Head of Digital Banking, UBL, as well as several senior executives from both the organizations were present at the ceremony.
On the occasion, Mr. Feroz Rizvi said, “This partnership between ICAP and UBL is a much needed step towards providing tech based convenience. With ICAP’s diverse student base spread all across the country, this facility will prove to be effective in inculcating paperless processing, while at the same time empowering the students”.
Mr. Khurram Rezvi further added “UBL is a keen enabler of initiatives for the education sector and partnering with ICAP on this project is one such accomplishment. This initiative will provide great convenience to students across Pakistan.”

Furoshiki demonstration by Madame Junko Ouchi
KARACHI (PR): Furoshiki (traditional Japanese wrapping cloth) demonstration by Madame Junko Ouchi, wife of the Consul General of Japan in Karachi, was held at the Japan Information and Culture Center. Around 60 participants from the four ikebana (Japanese art of flower arrangement) groups: Ikebana International Karachi Chapter, Ikenobo Study Group, Ohara Study Group and Sogetsu Study Group, joined this cultural program.
Madame Ouchi presented creative art of wrapping objects of various shapes and sizes with furoshiki of several fabrics and colours, considering different occasions. Madame Ouchi demonstrated how to wrap book, box, bottle, ball, flowers, etc. as well as how to do handbag and tissue box makeovers with furoshiki.

Microsoft introduces Lumia 540 Dual SIM
KARACHI (PR): Microsoft Corp has unveiled the Lumia 540 Dual SIM, designed for young, ambitious people looking for their first serious smartphone. KFC Pakistan campaign
KARACHI (PR): After the success of the SOS Bucket and Deaf Bucket, KFC Pakistan under the “Mitao Bhook” umbrella, announced the third initiative with The Citizens Foundation recently. The event was held at the TCF School, during the lunch hours.
KFC in collaboration with The Citizens Foundation Pakistan launched a campaign in which they introduced their TCF BUCKET. Rs50 from every TCF Bucket bought at KFC was donated to the The Citizens Foundation.

KFC Mitao Bhook aims to connect with the citizens of Pakistan on an emotional level. Contributing to society’s wellbeing has been the key responsibility, and giving people a chance to give back every time they have a meal at KFC will not only enforce a positive environment but uphold their trust in KFC as a brand that wants to give back to society. Previously having partnered with two renowned organizations, The SOS Children’s Village Pakistan and Deaf Reach School System, KFC was successful in raising 18 million rupees through their Mitao Bhook program.
The opening ceremony started off with the speech of Mr. Nigel Belton – CEO KFC Pakistan where he talked about the ventures KFC did in the past with SOS Village and Deaf Reach, KFC’s campaigns which were spread wide across social media for being instrumental in making Mitao Bhook campaigns the success, followed by Mr. Ateed Riaz founder Director TCF who praised KFC’s initiative and the efforts that are being made to uplift the community. 

UMT inks MOU
LAHORE (PR): A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between UMT and The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) took place here on Thursday. According to the MoU, the graduates of BS Accounting from UMT will have an opportunity to pursue highly recognized Chartered Accountancy qualification. These graduates would be able to avail exemption from eight papers of the CA examinations. Similarly ICAP students who have cleared the respective ICAP subjects and ICAP members would be able to avail exemptions in the mapped subjects of BS Accounting at UMT.

The MOU was signed by Director General UMT, Abid HK Sherwani and Mr. Yaqoob Suttar, President ICAP at UMT campus Lahore.
