Police on Thursday detained several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar Ayub, and three sisters of party founder Imran Khan, outside Adiala Jail.

The group had gathered to meet Imran Khan when police stopped them and took them into custody, later transporting them to an undisclosed location.

Among those stopped were PTI leaders Zartaj Gul, Hamid Raza, Niazullah Niazi, and Khan’s sisters Aleema, Uzma, and Noreen. When police blocked their access at the Dahgal checkpoint, they staged a peaceful sit-in, refusing to leave without meeting Imran.

Zartaj Gul told reporters that despite possessing court orders and citing jail manual provisions, police had sealed off Adiala Road to prevent their visit.

Hamid Raza also voiced frustration, saying they were left with no option but to protest. Omar Ayub slammed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, calling him "the biggest liar" and questioning how the government planned to manage fuel levies and aid for provinces like Balochistan.

As tensions escalated, Imran’s sisters sought shelter in a nearby under-construction plaza. Police later entered the building and arrested seven individuals, including Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, and Noreen Khan.
