Pakistan’s junior squash stars made an impressive mark at the Australian Junior Squash Open 2025, with six athletes advancing to the semi-finals across multiple age categories.
The prestigious tournament, currently underway in Melbourne, is a showcase of top international youth talent — and Pakistan’s young players have firmly established their presence.
In the Boys’ Under-11 category, Ahmad Ali Naz delivered a composed performance to secure his spot in the semi-finals, while Ahmad Raza Naz swept past Australia’s Manav Kagda with a dominant 3-0 victory.
Pakistan also shined in the Under-17 division. Azaan Ali Khan fought hard to overcome an Australian opponent and reach the boys’ semi-finals, while Mahrukh Ali booked her place in the girls’ final four after a convincing win over Meghan Wang.
In the Under-15 category, Sehrish Ali — Mahrukh’s sister — continued her fine run with a clinical win over Chelse Paul. Meanwhile, in the Under-13 bracket, Mohammad Faizan Khan defeated a New Zealand player to keep Pakistan’s momentum going, and Mahnoor Ali earned her semi-final place by beating Victoria’s Maryam Ibrahim.
The tournament finals are scheduled for April 17, 2025. Pakistan’s strong performance highlights the depth of talent emerging from its junior squash circuit and signals a promising future for the sport in the country.
