Govt sign $300 mln loan agreements with ADB

The Asian Development Bank and the Government of Pakistan signed agreements for three programme loans totaling $300 m for Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab meant to support economic growth, poverty reduction and improved health of women and infants. The agreements were signed by Secretary Economic Affairs Division, Farrakh Qayyum and Rune Stroem, Country Director ADB on behalf of government of Pakistan and ADB. Representatives of provincial governments of Punjab, Balochistan and Sindh also signed their programme agreements with ADB. Punjab, Pakistan's most populous province is facing massive challenges in providing health care services to a growing population. The Program is expected to contribute towards improving health facilities for women and infants.
