ISLAMABAD - Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) in its reply to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the party funding sources case has requested the Commission to dismiss PTI’s plea in the case. A two-member bench of the ECP heard the case last day and adjourned the hearings till January 19.
Meanwhile, in its response, the TLP took the stance that request of the PTI was invalid, asking ECP to reject application after imposing a heavy penalty on the ruling party. The TLP written reply further observed that according to law, the audit of accounts was carried out by a registered chartered accountant firm. It further said that the PTI’s plea was misleading and based on lie. It must be noted that the ruling party earlier had urged the ECP to scrutinise the accounts of TLP, Jamaat-e-Islami and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) in the second phase.
