LAHORE - The Lahore High Court on Monday issued a notice to the defence secretary for defying the court orders and adjourned the case for the second week of March.

The court of Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza was hearing a petition seeking contempt proceedings against the secretary.

Sobedar (r) Ali Ahmad had filed the petition saying that the officer are given agriculture land and plots but the non-gazetted officers are not given except of the pension. He said this difference was discriminatory.

The petitioner’s counsel stated that federal secretary defense did not hear him despite the court order which was tantamount to the contempt of court.

He requested the judge to initiate contempt proceedings against him for not readdressing his issue.  On it, the court issued notice to federal secretary defense and sought reply.
