Poverty-stricken man hangs himself

LAHORE - A 56-year-old poverty-stricken man ended his life by hanging himself with the ceiling fan at his house in Mozang, police sources said on Monday. Police said that father of two, Rafaqat Ali, had been facing sever financial constraints for the last couple of months. Also, he was unable to repay the debt, which he had borrowed for the wedding of his daughter in the recent past. The jobless man got disillusioned and committed suicide in the bedroom. The police are investigating.
Arrested: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Monday claimed to have arrested two moneychangers involved in hundi trade during a successful operation in Lahore.
Reportedly, the FIA team raided at a money exchange office and arrested Majid Khan and Amir Ullah. The FIA team also recovered Rs 4.2 million from their possession. Further investigation was underway.
