Two unidentified robbers gunned down a trader on resistance here on Ferozpur Road in the remit of Mustafabad Police on Monday.

As per details, Sheikh Abdul Sattar came to Mustafabad bazaar to collect money from the shopkeepers in connection with his business. After collecting money, when the trader was sitting in his car parked on Ferozpur Road, two unidentified robbers held him at gunpoint and attempted to snatch the money. However, one the outlaws fired gunshots when Sattar put up resistance, killing him instantly.

As soon as traders of Mustafabad learnt about the incident, they shut their shops and gathered on main Ferozpur Road.

They observed a shutdown and blocked the road against the cold-blooded murder. They chanted slogans against the police, accusing it of failure to control crime and demanded immediate arrest of the accused. However, on the assurance by Saddr Circle DSP Muhammad Nazar Abbas that the police would trace and arrest the culprits soon, the angry traders dispersed peacefully. Later, the police registered a case against unidentified outlaws on the complaint of Zulifqar Ali.

Meanwhile, four unidentified robbers deprived three persons of valuables including cash, bike and cellphones near village Jhulayke in the Phoolnagar Saddr Police precincts.

As per details, four unidentified robbers intercepted Muhammad Riaz near village Jhulayke and snatched motorcycle and Rs3,000 from him. Later, the outlaws held Naeem at gunpoint and deprived him of Rs2,000. The bandits also robbed Zulifqar of cash and cellphone.

CRUSHED TO DEATH: A man was crushed to death by a moving train in the Kot Radha Kishan police precincts on Monday.

Tanvir Iqbal, a resident of Lahore, was attending a call on his cellphone while crossing railway track. Meanwhile, Karachi-bound Khyber Mail on the way from Lahore crushed him to death.

The police handed over the body to the family after legal formalities.
