LAHORE: Polio workers teams have been attacked in the city today near Chauburji and Naseerabad. 

One polio worker Umar Khan has been injured by firing of some unknown people near Chauburji in the area of Lytton Road Police Station. The injured worker has been shifted to Mayo Hospital.

The polio workers have also been obstructed from their work in Naseerabad Police Station area when they were busy in administering polio vaccine. Soon after the incident, police personnel reached the spot and have started investigation. However, no person has been arrested so far.

Obstruction to work of polio vaccine administrators in Lahore is rare but not new. Some incidents were reported in 2013 and 2014.
