LAHORE: The police officers ordered on-the-spot action on more than 3700 complaints received during the open-courts, being held in the mosques after Friday prayers in the provincial metropolis.
A police spokesperson said on Friday that on the directions of DIG (Operations) Dr Haider Ashraf, all the police officers arranged open courts in the mosques located in their jurisdictions after Friday prayers.
SP Ijaz Shafi Dogar arranged an open court in the Jamia mosque Islamia Hanfia Township, DSP Old Anarkali Mian Liaqat Ali arranged an open court in the Jamia mosque Al-Noor, DSP Mughalpura Abdul Qayyum arranged an open court in Jamia mosque Lal, DSP Barki Talib Hussain arranged an open court in the Jamia mosque Azizia Adda Hadyara, DSP Model Town Shehzad Manzoor arranged an open court in the Jamia mosque Sher-e-Rabbani, DSP Ichra Rana Mehmood-ul-Hassan arranged an open court in Madrasa Jamia Asharfia, DSP Muslim Town Imran Abbas arranged an open court in Jamia mosque Tayyba Wahdat Colony, DSP Gulshan-e-Ravi Ghulam Abbas Rana arranged an open court in the Jamia mosque Abdullah Bin Masood and DSP Township arranged an open court in Jamia mosque Khair-ud-Din in Johar Town.
On this occasion, the police officers after hearing the complaints of hundreds of complaints issued on–the-spot orders to resolve the genuine grievances of the public.
The people can participate in the open courts to hand over their applications to senior police officers directly in case they are entertained in the police stations, the spokesperson said. DIG Haider Ashraf is personally monitoring all these open courts and the SPs are directed to send comprehensive report after helping peoples in open courts on regular basis.
