Four passengers lost their lives and a few others sustained injuries as a mini-bus diverted from a road in Shahr-e-Bazarg district of the northern Badakhshan province on Monday, a provincial administration official Maazudin said.
The incident took place at around noon Monday due to bad weather and congested road, leaving four dead on the spot and a few injured, the official added.
Maazudin also noted that the number of injured commuters has yet to be known.
This is the second road accident in war-torn Afghanistan since Monday morning and the third since Saturday.
Nine commuters were injured as two vehicles collided on Monday on a road connecting the northern Mazar-i-Sharif city to the neighboring Shiberghan city.
In a similar road accident, eight commuters sustained injuries in Baghlan province on Saturday.
Congested roads and reckless driving, according to officials often lead to deadly road accidents in war-torn Afghanistan.
