SARGODHA - The police claimed to have smashed a rotten meat traffickers racket when they were ready for transporting meat to Rawalpindi and seized 400kg unhygienic meat, here the other day.

As per detail, police got a tip-off that rotten meat was being transported from Sargodha to District Rawalpindi. The police team led by Sub-Inspector Nasir Ali Shah promptly responded and established a picket at Jalpana Chowk. During snap-checking they stopped a suspicious car FDW/445 coming from Sahiwal.During search, the officials recovered 40kg rotten meat concealed under rear seats and boot of vehicle.

The police arrested Mudassar Riaz and Abdul Lateef Musalli, residents of village Sial Sharif.

During interrogation, the accused admitted that they used to collect rotten meat from different areas of the district.
