MULTAN - The members of Pakistan Railway Prem Union brought out a rally against alleged corruption of Railway officers and staged a protest demonstration outside Divisional Superintendent office on Monday.

A large number of union members assembled at the Railway station and marched up to the DS office where they carried out non-stop sloganeering against top hierarchy of the Pakistan Railway. They also staged a sit in. speaking on this occasion, union leaders Rauf Rashid, Wasiq Khan, Rana Sharif and others said that the corrupt bureaucracy completely ruined the largest organization of the country. They said that railway was the best and cheapest source of travelling for poor citizens but the corrupt elements deprived masses of this facility. They demanded the government to take stern action against corrupt officers of Railway and revive this institution of strategic importance.

Traders flay power outages:  The traders of Lakkar Mandi Chowk staged a demonstration against prolonged and unscheduled loadshedding here on Vehari Road on Monday. Dozens of timber traders gathered and blocked the road by placing burning tyres. They also shouted slogans against federal government.

They were of the opinion that long power outages destroyed their business and they were faced with serious financial losses. They asked the government to immediately end loadshedding otherwise they would encircle WAPDA offices.
