LAHORE – Following special directives by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Rescue 1122 (South) conducted a mock exercise at River Chenab on Monday to assess the preparations of and coordination among different departments for flood relief activities in southern Punjab

The Multan district emergency officer (DEO) and media coordinator (south) observed the mock exercise and expressed their satisfaction with the arrangements.

A Rescue 1122 spokesman said the service was always prepared to help the people in any emergency or disaster, and also creating liaison among different departments for better response to help in rescue and rehabilitation of flood victims.

He further said, following special directives by the chief minister, Multan Division in collaboration with all the district emergency officers of southern Punjab organised the mock exercise on Monday to assess and evaluate the arrangements and preparedness to tackle floods.

“The Rescue 1122 is especially focusing on the southern districts of Punjab to enhance the preparedness for overcoming any untoward incident and covering all the loopholes,” the spokesman added.
