ISLAMABAD   -    Exchange rate of the Pakistani rupee weakened by 22 paisas against the United States dollar in the interbank trading on Wednesday and closed at Rs179.43 against the previous day’s closing of Rs179.21. According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs179.4 and Rs180.85 respectively. Similarly, the price of the euro depreciated by 58 paisas and closed at Rs196.64 against the previous day’s closing of Rs197.22. The Japanese Yen remained unchanged to close at Rs1.51, whereas an increase of 34 paisas was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs233.98 as compared to its last closing of Rs233.64. The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by 06 paisas to close at Rs48.85 and Rs47.82 respectively.
