The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi has turned down a petition filed by Aleema Khan, sister of former prime minister Imran Khan, in which she sought exemption from personal court appearances and permission to travel abroad.
The court announced its reserved decision, denying both requests. Aleema Khan had submitted the application a few days earlier, asking for relief from attending court in person and for approval to leave the country.
Separately, the Lahore ATC has extended interim bail for Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan in connection with the May 9 vandalism cases. During the latest proceedings, ATC Judge Arshad Javed heard the bail pleas. Aleema Khan was absent from court, with her lawyer submitting a request for a one-day exemption on her behalf.
After reviewing the petitions, the court extended the interim bail for both sisters until May 30.
