Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif issued a strong warning to terrorists operating within Pakistan, declaring that they would face consequences similar to those suffered by the Indian Air Force (IAF) during the recent cross-border tensions.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, the minister praised the unity and resilience of the Pakistani nation, noting that India’s aggression had served to strengthen national solidarity. “There were divisions in our unity before, but now the nation stands united,” he remarked.
He lauded the Pakistan Armed Forces for their swift and decisive response during the May 10 confrontation with India, highlighting the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who, he said, guided the country with resolve and faith.
Khawaja Asif emphasized that the government and people fully support the military, acknowledging the sacrifices made in defending the country. “The entire nation stands with our armed forces,” he said, adding that India's hostile actions only served to unify Pakistan.
Accusing India of backing terrorism in Pakistan through covert networks, he warned that those involved in such acts would face the same fate as the IAF. “Our war is now against terrorists, and their outcome will be no different,” he warned.
The minister asserted that Pakistan had consistently triumphed over India on all fronts and vowed that any future misadventure by India would be met with an even stronger response. He also revealed that during the recent confrontation, the Pakistan Air Force had locked onto ten Indian aircraft, underscoring the readiness and capability of the country’s defence forces.
