ATTOCK - Irem Bibi, who was attacked with acid a few days ago, succumbed to her injuries on Saturday. She was laid to rest in the graveyard of village Jatial 18km away from Attock. Police have registered a murder case against the culprit who had thrown acid on Irem.
As per the sources, the culprit Dilawar who threw acid on Irem was her cousin. He is also associated with a banned organisation and after committing the crime fled to Karachi. It is to be noted that on November 11 when Irem was present in her home the culprit clad in burqa holding a bottle in his hand entered her house and threw acid on her face.
Reportedly her 70 per cent face was badly burnt. After the sad happening, Irem was immediately shifted to POF Hospital Burn Unit Wah and then to different hospitals of Islamabad and Rawalpindi but she could not recover and succumbed to her burns.
