Rawalpindi - The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out various operations against drug mafia and recovered huge quantity of narcotics, besides nabbing eight persons including a lady smuggler, informed ANF spokesman here on Thursday.
According to the ANF spokesman, ANF during its drive against narcotics smuggling carried out six operations at Jhelum, Peshawar, Shikarpur and Karachi, which resulted in seizure of 31-kg hashish, 3.5-kg heroin, and 30 bottles of liquor, and arrested eight persons including a lady involved in drug smuggling. A vehicle was also confiscated during the operations. The value of seized drugs amounts to Rs 54.3 million approximately in international market. ANF Rawalpindi arrested an accused Yasir Rafique and recovered 250 grams of hashish from his possession.
He was arrested from main bus stop, GT road, Dina. According to initial investigations, the accused was a local drug peddler and was going to a nearby locality for distribution of drugs.
Separate cases have been registered against all the arrested accused under CNS Act 1997 and further investigations are under progress, the spokesman added.
