Rawalpindi-Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) Department of Fine Arts opened its door to showcase the talent of its graduating batch of 2022 in which 30 students presented their final projects, informed a spokesperson on Friday.

The chief guest of the degree show was Fauzia Aziz Minallah, a renowned artist of Pakistan, a philanthropist and a social scientist. Vice Chancellor Dr. Saima Hamid along with the chief guest formally inaugurated the degree show and viewed the exhibition. The show was attended by a large number of dignitaries, academics, and department heads.

Replete with artists and aesthetes, the venue looked like an art museum with the final projects of students from five disciplines including miniature painting, communication design, textiles, mix media and oil painting on display. This degree show of the budding artists and designers of Fine Arts Department was a culmination point of the student’s studies.

Fine Arts Department of Fatima Jinnah Women University offers wide range of specializations in Art and Design with an emphasis on individualized attention and creative motivation with a special focus on setting up a creative center for women artists and designers to become independent practitioner. The main aim of the department is to stimulate the development of visual arts in the Pakistani society and to make significant contribution to the field of contemporary art both nationally and internationally.
