MULTAN    -   Secondary School Certificate (SSC) 2nd annual examination 2022 will begin from October 6 for which the controllers’ examination of Punjab Boards met here on Friday.

According to a statement issued here, the meeting was held under chairmanship of Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE), Hafiz M Qasim. 

The controllers discussed in detail about the date sheet which was later finalized. BISE Lahore Chairman Dr Habib also attended the meeting. Secretary BISE Multan, Khurram Qureshi, System Analyst Qazi Mujeeb and oth­ers participated in the meeting. BISE Control­ler Hamid Saeed Bhatti extended a vote of thanks to guests.

Meanwhile, the newly-appointed Vice Chancel­lor of Sargodha University, Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas met Punjab Higher Education Minister Raja Yasir Humayun Sarfraz on Friday. Reforms in education sector as well as strategies for promoting qual­ity education and encouraging a research culture were also discussed.

The minister emphasized to improve the higher education sector in Punjab by ensuring merit and transparency. He directed the secretary higher education to resolve the lingering issues of public sector universities at the earliest.

Dr Qaisar Abbas said, “Liaison between in­dustry and academia is a prerequisite for trans­forming higher education sector into industry and enabling it to compete at a global level.” He said Pakistan could also achieve economic pros­perity by strengthening ties between academia and industry. The traditional educational sys­tem needs to be changed, so that students could acquire technical skills, he added.
