KAKUL (APP) - Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Noman Bashir Saturday said Pakistan Navy was working in harmony with the army and the Air Force in making the country safe for future generations. Addressing the Presidents Parade on 121st PMA Long Course, 40th Integrated Course and 6th Lady Cadet Course here at the Pakistan Military Academy, the Naval Chief said Pakistan was confronted with numerous internal and external challenges that require commitment and unshattering resolve to deal with. Pakistan Navy has made its contributions towards maritime security and protection of our sea frontiers. We are maintaining close vigilance at high seas to keep our area of responsibility safe from acts of terrorism, privacy and other threats. He said a platoon of Pakistan Navy Special Service Group and surveillance aircraft were deployed in support of the land operations and added it was for the first time in the history that Navy personnel were fighting on land side by side with their brothers in army. The Naval Chief said the government was fully cognizant of the needs of the armed forces of the country and was providing the means and resources to acquire new weaponry and technology. We value our sovereignty and independence more than anything else and consider no sacrifice too great to preserve our freedom and honour. He congratulated the cadets on completion of their basic training. He particularly felicitated the women cadets on the successful completion of training and said it will serve as an inspiration to talented daughters of the nation for the defence of their motherland. He also commended Commandant PMA Major General Raheel Sharif and his entire team for the training, the parents and the families on the success of the graduating cadets. The Naval Chief later handed over Sword of Honour for overall best cadet of 121 Long Course to Academy Senior Under Officer Muhammad Talal Tariq, Presidents Gold Medal for overall second best cadet of 121 Long Course Battalion Senior Under Officer Bilal Akbar, the Chief of Army Staffs Overseas Gold medal for the best Allied Cadet of 121 Long Course Mafarja, Commandants Cane for the best cadet of Integrated Course 40 Course Under Officer Hammad Ul Hassan, Commandants Cane for the best cadet of Lady Cadets Course 6 Course Under Officer Sidra Aslam. A total of 484 cadets passed out under the 121st PMA Long Course, 83 under the 40th Integrated Course and 27 under the 6th Lady Cadet Course.
