LAHORE - Like other parts of the country, Christians celebrated Easter in the provincial metropolis with fervour. Special services were held at different places where the people attended prayers for peace, progress, and prosperity of the country. The teachings of Jesus Christ were highlighted. The police made special arrangements to maintain law and order. Noted people expressed greetings to Christians at the event and laid stress on following the teachings of Jesus Christ to promote interfaith harmony, patience and prosperity.

The rights and privileges enjoyed by all minorities in Pakistan will be fully safeguarded by the govt according to the Constitution and guiding principles of Quaid-e-Azam, they said. Islam gives equal rights to the minorities and the Constitution grants minorities equal participation in all walks of life, they added. The Christian community was also urged by them to continue playing their role in the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
