DG Health Punjab orders inquiry against CEO District Health Authority, Medical Superintendent DHQ

Attock  -  On the complaint of a local resident, Director General Health Services Punjab has ordered an inquiry against CEO District Health Authority Attock and Medical  Superintendent District Headquarters Hospital Attock for their alleged involvement in different irregularities. 

Najam Murtaza Malik son of Malik Ghulam Murtaza, resident of Darul Salam Colony Attock has submitted a written complaint to the higher authorities regarding the purchase and presence of substandard medicines in the Attock Health Department and other irregularities taking place, taking swift action an inquiry has been ordered to dig out the facts.

However, Medical Superintendent District Headquarters Hospital Attock when contacted told newsmen that the allegations levelled were baseless and said that let the inquiry team look into  this problem. The complainant has further alleged that a procurement officer of the DHQ Hospital in violation of the rules was also a practicing lawyer in Islamabad and Rawalpindi courts and was not performing his duty properly. Medical Superintendent of the hospital is in habit of giving favors to his blue eyed doctors and these blue-eyed doctors never perform their duties properly and run their private clinics during duty hours.

No medical officer is deputed for emergency duties and those doctors recruited temporarily are performing duties in emergency department which is violation of the SOPs.

The complainant has further alleged that the process of local purchase of medicines is also not transparent and medicines which are purchased in bulk are also purchased from local companies. Doctors of this hospital are also in habit of referring patients to their private clinics.
