ANP’s cabinet meeting today

PESHAWAR - To discuss preparations for the forthcoming general elections, a meeting of the provincial cabinet of the Awami National Party will be held today with the party’s Provincial President and ex-Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti in the chair.

The meeting will be held at Bacha Khan Markaz, the central headquarters of the ANP at 10am. Besides the provincial cabinet members, all district-based presidents and general secretaries and the party’s candidates for contesting coming provincial assembly seats will also attend the meeting.

The participants of the meeting will not only discuss the party’s preparations so far made contesting the coming general elections but also arrangements for observing the death anniversaries of both Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, known as Bacha Khan and Khan Abdul Wali Khan, the late Rehbar-e-Tehreek of the ANP. Their death anniversaries will be observed in the mid of coming February 2018.

BACHA KHAN AWARD CEREMONY HELD : Staff Reporter from Khyber Agency adds: A ceremony of Bacha Khan Talent Award was held here in the Government Boys Degree College hall of Landi Kotal on Sunday.

Besides senior Awami National Party (ANP) leader and renowned lawyer, Latif Afridi as chief guest, ANP central finance sectary Arbab Tahir Khan, scholar Dr Sohail, chief editor Bacha Khan Pakhtun magazine Hayat Rohani local ANP leaders and large number of students and tribesmen participated in the gathering.

Addressing on the occasion Latif Afridi said that the main cause of downfall of the Pakhthun community was lack of education of science and technology and the Pakhthun youth should utilize their energies to seek knowledge if they wanted a respectful position in the world.

“Time has come that the Pakhtuns follow philosophy of non-violence of Bahca Khan to halt further destruction on their land”, Afridi remarked.

He stressed upon the tribal to encourage female education in the society that comprised half population of the country and could play vital role in the development of the country and asked them to roll up their slaves to promote girls education.

The ANP leaders announced fifteen lap tops prize for the winners of next Bacha Khan Talent Award to be scheduled in near future in Landi Kotal.

At the end the chief guest distributed ten lap tops to the top 10 winners of Bacha Khan Talent Test.
