RAWALPINDI The candidate for by-polls of NA-55 Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has alleged that the departments of Punjab government, including police, WASA, RDA, Excise and Taxation, TMA and others are running election campaign of PML-N candidate Malik Shakeel Awan and submit reports to heads of the departments at Punjab House on daily basis. The Punjab government wanted to rig NA-55 by-polls, that is why I approached Lahore High Court (LHC), Rawalpindi Bench, for deployment of Rangers during elections. This will not give advantage to any party but will assure peace and tranquility in the constituency. He was addressing a public gathering at Ratta Amral here on Wednesday. The PPP activists including Shughaib Mughal, scores of Awami Muslim League (AML) supporters, notables of the areas and other citizens were also present on the occasion. Addressing, Sheikh Rashid said that the masses had no concern with judges appointments rather they wanted two-time meal, employment, education and health facilities. He said that the leaders of PML-N were threatening long march only for their vested interests while they were silent over inflation. He said that democracy was under a great danger and his presence in assembly was must to guard democracy. The AML President was of the view that masses had fed up with the policies of the government and besides Shiites, PPP, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI), the workers of PML-N would also vote him. Sheikh Rashid said, I will raise my voice on the floor of the assembly for the solution of problems of Rawalpindi people after winning the election, he added. The AML President and candidate for NA-55 by-polls Sheikh Rashid Ahmed appealed the masses to vote for him for development of their city.
