Govt implementing different projects under CPEC to benefit all provinces, NA told

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly was informed today that the government is implementing different projects under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, which will benefit all the provinces.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmad told the House that after completion, the western and eastern routes under CPEC will connect each other.

He said the government has decided to hold census next month. He said exercise for delimitation of constituencies would be carried out after the census, if required.

Replying to a question, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed said National Highway Authority is planning to construct a road upto Tajikistan from Pakistan border.

Parliamentary Secretary for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahzadi Umarzadi Tiwana told the House that a Russian company is laying pipeline in Pakistan from Karachi to Lahore, for provision of LNG.

She said the 1100 kilometer long pipeline will be completed by end of next year, at a cost of two billion dollars having 500 mmcfd.
