MARYAM SAFDAR CASE: The LHC sought more arguments from the federal government on the maintainability of an Intra Court Appeal (ICA) challenging the eligibility of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Maryam Nawaz Case.

Syed Iqtidar Ali Shah, a citizen, had filed the appeal against the order of a single bench and submitted that Nawaz Sharif got issued a notification for appointment of his daughter Maryam Safdar but mentioned her name as Maryam Nawaz.

Thus, he alleged, the prime minister lied and concealed the facts, in violation of Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution.

He requested the court to set aside order of the single bench and declare PM disqualified to hold public office.
