WAZIRABAD - Assistant Commissioner Shiraz Manzoor, after assuming additional powers of checking foodstuffs, raided restaurants near River Chenab and sealed them on the charge of selling substandard food, poor cleanliness and unhygienic condition. The AC also sealed a Sheesha Club here the other. DDO-Health Dr Nasar Ullah Cheema, Tehsildar Ghulam Mustafa Ansari, TMO Qaisar Ameen Warriach, Naib Tehsildars and a police contingent accompanied AC Shiraz Manzoor during the surprising checking. DDO-Health Nasar Ullah Cheema examined the kitchens of three restaurants included Akbar Resort (known as Kinara Hotel, Chenab Barbecue Restaurant and Archird restaurant. He expressed dissatisfaction over poor cleanliness and unhygienic condition in the kitchens of these restaurants. The officers also found expired Atta, fish, mutton and other foodstuffs at these restaurants and issued on spot directions to seal them off. Samples of different items were also collected and sent for Chemical examination to the laboratory. A Sheesha Club established at Archird restaurant was also sealed. Speaking on the occasion, AC Shiraz Manzoor stated that stern action would be taken against those people found selling substandard food items. He categorically said that food adulteration would not be tolerated and people involved in the malpractice would be dealt with sternly. NOMINATED: PPP Gujranwala Division Secretary Information Mohammad Noman Aziz has nominated Mian Mohammad Usman, former General Secretary PYO City Wazirabad, as the partys City Wazirabad Secretary Information.
