OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Jamaat-e-Islami will express solidarity day with the people of Balochistan on Tuesday (tomorrow) by staging a sit-in at Quetta and holding public meetings and rallies at major cities across the country. The arrangements have been finalised at a meeting chaired by ameer JI Syed Munawar Hasan at Mansoora on Sunday. Besides the Quetta sit- in which will be led by Syed Munawar Hasan, the JI will hold public meetings in Karachi, Peshawar, Lahore, Hyderabad and Abbotabad on the day to seek public support for solving the Balochistan issue. Senior JI leader Prof Ghafoor Ahmed will lead the Karachi rally. Addressing the participants of the meeting, Munawar Hasan said that the people all over the country were concerned over the target killings and military operations in Balochistan. Hundreds of people including women were missing, and dead bodies of the people were being found frequently. He said the people of Balochistan could not be satisfied merely by holding federal cabinet meeting in Quetta. The government, he said, had announced the grant of rights to the Baloch people but nothing had been done in this direction. Military operation was still continuing in the province and dead bodies of the abductees were found in far flung areas. The writ of the government was nowhere in the province. He said the people of Balochistan were patriotic and the JI alone was fighting the case both in the corridors of power and in the fields.
