KARAK - Senior Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bashir Ahmad Bilour inaugurated the pavement of streets and a market in district Karak. Addressing a public gathering here at Town Hall, he said the restoration of peace in the province was the result of the struggles of Awami National Party government. He said the pavement of streets had been completed with total cost of Rs 25.5 million and the market owned by Tehsil Municipal Administration Karak with Rs 14.5 million with the financial assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). He approved Rs 1 million for the construction of Bacha Khan Memorial in the district and Rs 1 million for TMA Karak to purchase tractor and trolley to dispose of wastage. He said the TMA market would be named Molvi Abdur Rehman Market - after the name of a Khudai Khidmatgar Tehreek leader. The senior minister said that the ANP-led provincial government could not honour its commitment of enhancing the royalty of oil and gas up to 20 per cent for district Karak adding that all the mineral producing districts were getting five per cent royalty of their production. He informed that district Karak would get Rs 150 million this year as oil and gas royalty. Bilour said that restoration of peace to large extent in the province was a great achievement of the provincial government and added that some time back bomb explosion took place on daily basis but now the situation has been improved. He said that war on terror was their battle as their mosques, schools, hospitals and innocent people were being target by the terrorists and added that those who were calling it the war of the USA were actually misguiding the people. He questioned that who were assisting the terrorist to continue the terrorist activities in the country and added that someone must supply weapons and money to them therefore the Pakistan, Afghanistan and USA should sit together to sort out the resolution of the problem. The senior minister said that until peace was not established in Afghanistan peace in Pakistan could not be established and added if USA makes withdrawal from Afghanistan today then the Terrorists and Taliban would set up the government there. The MPA Mian Nisar Gul in his address pinpointed that animals were being smuggled to Afghanistan via Gurguri and pointed that some influential were involved in it. He added that fake fertilizer and non custom paid vehicles were also smuggled to other areas but the district administration has miserably failed to arrest this illegal business and added that the police could see a pistol in the vehicle but could not see a buffalo in the vehicle.
