LAHORE (PPI) - The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME) has urged the bureaucracy to play its effective role and reorganize the ministries on modern lines to expedite applications as most of the federal ministers are not well versed with the subjects to bring about changes in line with the international trends. President UNISAME Zulfikar Thaver urged the bureaucracy to shed its old colonial style and open their minds to new systems and trends to overcome the challenges facing the country. He said responsibility lies on the shoulders of the bureaucracy to adopt new methods and practices and modernize the systems with vision and imagination and not follow the beaten track. He expressed surprise that an entrepreneur who wishes to invest in new industries, power generation, petroleum products, automobiles, aviation and pharmaceuticals is still made to go in circles and there is no co-ordination between the ministries resulting in long drawn procedures. He lamented that any project first meets with an objection and a negative reply from the secretariat and after much perusal and influence it is considered and placed in the list of proposals.
