Nato oil supply delayed from City


KARACHI : The oil tankers bound to supply oil to the NATO forces deployed in Afghanistan could not leave from Karachi on Tuesday.According to sources, the tankers carrying oil for the NATO forces are delayed as the security check posts to provide security to the tankers have not been set up yet. Also, the oil companies have not supplied oil to the tankers so far.General Secretary of All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association has demanded to pay off the previous amount before the oil tankers could leave for Afghanistan for further supply. He has also asked to provide additional security to the tankers carrying oil for NATO forces.President APOTOA-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan had earlier told that the supply would resume from July 17. Pakistan reopened overland routes to NATO convoys crossing into Afghanistan on July 3.

 after closing them in protest at a US air raid that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers in November.

NATO traffic across the border has so far been minimal, with only a few trucks having crossed into Afghanistan since the routes were reopened.
