PM invites Chinese investment in energy sector

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Tuesday said that China had extended significant support to Pakistan in various energy projects and invited the China Electrical Equipment Group to invest in solar energy sector.
The Prime Minister stated this while talking to Jia Yangang, President China Electrical Equipment Group (CEEG), who called on him here and discussed cooperation in the energy sector. The Prime Minister welcomed Jia Yangang and his delegation and appreciated his keenness to visit Pakistan as a follow-up of his meeting with the President of Pakistan last year.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan and China enjoy all-weather friendship and the two countries have cooperation in all sectors of economy.
The Prime Minister stated that China has extended significant support to Pakistan in energy sector in the shape of projects like Nandipur Power Plant, Neelum Jhelum Hydropower project, Guddu Power Plant etc. He appreciated the efforts of Jia Yangang to help in tapping vast potential in the solar energy sector in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister assured that his government would facilitate and support investment in the solar energy sector.
