MULTAN - The activists of Muttahida Shehri Mahaaz (MSM) staged a protest against drone attacks here at Chowk Kutchery on Tuesday. A large number of MSM activists assembled at the Chowk and carried out non-stop sloganeering against the US. They were also holding placards and banners inscribed with anti-US slogans and demands regarding immediate suspension of drone operation. The protesters were led by MSM chief Tariq Naeem Ullah, who blocked the road and burnt American flag. Speaking on the occasion, Tariq Naem Ullah and others said that drone attack right after the visit of senator John Kerry was a slap in the face of entire parliament, rulers and nation. They said that it was an open challenge for the masses and they should exert pressure on government to get stopped the attacks. They pointed out that despite unanimous resolution adopted by the parliament, American attacks continued. It is insult of our parliament and nation. The government should immediately breach all diplomatic ties with the USA, they demanded. MASSES AWARENESS WALK: The citizens, TMA workers and former councillors on Tuesday participated in a walk to create awareness among masses on arbitrary councils. The walk was organised by Moosa Pak Town and administrator of the town Kh Anwar led the marchers. The walk started from BCG Chowk and ended at Mumtazabad. The participants were also holding placards and banners inscribed with different slogans highlighting the importance of these councils.Briefing the citizens, Kh Anwar said that the councils would play major role in offering relief to the public. He asked the citizens to approach the councils formed at union council level in case of any domestic or tiny disputes instead of contacting police.
