Gay marriage hearing

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE- An additional district and sessions judge Javaid Sandhu will take up the petition again today seeking registration of a criminal case against two persons who had allegedly solemnized marriage in United Kingdom. According to details, petitioner Numan had filed a petition in the court alleging that his brother Hafiz Salman had solemnized marriage with Zaheer in UK. He informed the court that Salman had flown to UK for purpose of getting education but there he did married to same sex (Zaheer).Numan further contended that Salman came to Pakistan in April, along with his spouse Zaheer. As Salman told me that he had solemnized marriage with another person Zaheer, Numan contended. Numan said that Salman also showed a certificate of the marriage when he asked him (Salman) to marry in Pakistan with opposite sex. Numan said that family tried to separate them but they both left the house. He informed the court that he contacted SHO concerned for registration the case against his brother and his spouse but the SHO refused to entertain the application.
