OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - A Division Bench of the Lahore High Court Tuesday called for May 23, reply from the NAB and the Federal Government to a petition which has questioned continuation of Rana Zahid Mehmood as Director General National Accountability Bureau (NAB) despite expiry of his one year contractual service. In the course of proceedings with the application, which prays for restraining DG NAB Rana Zahid from working in the office, the senior judge on the bench, Justice Farooq Ahmed Sheikh, sought satisfaction from the respondent as to the logic or legality behind retaining the respondent in the office after expiry of his one year contract on April 21. The judge was displeased over delay by the federal government and NAB on submitting reply to the petition. The deputy attorney general Ashraf Khan and consultant NAB Muhammad Hanif Tahir sought further time of three weeks to get instructions from the relevant quarters.
