LAHORE (PPI) - The second convocation of Chefs Institute of Pakistan (CIP) held here at Punjabi Complex Gaddafi Stadium where 87 students received certificates by TEVTA. Parliamentary Secretary for Health Punjab Dr Saeed Ealhi was the chief guest in the function who distributed certificates amongst students. Executive Director CIP Dr Maqsood Ahmed Yazdani, Managing Director Aamir Bhatti, Master Chef Sajjad Qureshi, Chairperson Trade Testing Board TEVTA Meharul Nisa, Chef Zubair Ahmed Khan and a large number of students also attended the event. Dr Maqsood Ahmed Yazdani in his address said that some 500 students had passed during the last three years from the institution and now they were serving the hotel industry. He said that demand for chefs is increasing in hotel industry and Pakistani chefs are becoming major source for earning foreign exchange in abroad. He said CIP has also opened a campus in Sialkot and if government support the institution, more campuses could also be opened in other cities across Punjab. He said government can also control unemployment by promoting chef profession in country. Parliamentary Secretary for Health Punjab Dr Saeed Elahi praised the Chefs Institute services and said that government would take steps to promote chef profession. He said young generation must take interest in chef profession.
