KAACHI - Direct bilateral trade between Pakistan and Germany is doing quite well as far as Pakistan is concerned. This was said by the German Consul General in Karachi Dr Christian Brecht, says a press release. He said that the trade volume between both countries in 2010 was 11 percent higher compared to the previous year. He said that as of 2010, Germany had become the fifth largest investor in Pakistan. The German diplomat made these remarks during an informal discussion during a lunch. The German Consul said that in his opinion Pakistan seemed to be doing very well as far as trade was concerned as Pakistani exports to Germany in 2010 were higher than imports from Germany. He said the exports from Pakistan to Germany had risen 22 percent over the previous year. He said there were many areas where Pakistan could benefit from cooperation with Germany and alternative energy was one of them.
